I'm Grainne Slavin: graphic designer, communications professional and owner of PLATFORM 74. I'm passionate about helping organisations improve the way they communicate.
The job of a designer isn't just to make things look pretty (although we like to do that too), it's to bring your messages to life visually to communicate them in a clear way to your target audience.
Your organisation's visual identity lays the foundations for this communication, so getting that right in the first instance saves a lot of time, effort and money as you progress. I can get this right for you, whether you're starting from scratch or refreshing your look.
A few things about me:
I attained a degree in English from the University of Huddersfield in 1996 and in 2014 graduated from Batley School of Art with a first class honours degree in Graphic Communication, meaning I can officially do words and pictures.
I have over 20 years' experience in a variety of roles including communications, event planning, administration and - of course - design, primarily within the charitable and public sectors.
I really like tea.
I'm often accompanied at PLATFORM 74 HQ by Mogulous the cat, who fortunately has a keen eye for colour. His proof-reading needs a little work.
Wondering how to pronounce 'Grainne'? Here's a little helping hand...
