Window decal
With the wow factor

With a prominent window looking out onto the street right outside their bathroom, clients Phil and Philippa wanted to gain a feeling of privacy without installing a blind and blocking out the light.

The solution was a window decal, and they commissioned me to create an abstract design in blue, green, yellow and red to match existing decor in their hallway and landing. So, I took their name, 'Phil', broke it up into shapes, applied a dash of artistic license, and created the design...

The made-to-measure decal was printed by Ark Display Graphics in Leeds, and installed by the client.

As well privacy being restored, the window is a real talking point with visitors, and looks great from the inside and outside, both in daylight and at night.

"Uninspired by high street offerings for window coverings for our light filled and exposing landing window, I had the idea to cover it with a playful stained glass effect decal, taking inspiration from a recent visit to Le Corbusier's Unité d'Habitation, but with a post modern design twist. Platform 74 delivered a design exactly to brief and vision."
